1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. -John 1:1-4 

-In that verse the Bible is saying that the origin of life is God. Our lives are not the result of an accident. This universe and everything in it did not just happen by chance. This universe and our lives originated in the heart of a God, who loves us and wants relationship with us. He created all of this to have a relationship with you.

I am learning more and more daily how much God truly loves us. That God has been in pursuit of us from the beginning. When man was first created back in Genesis we see God and man having this close intimate relationship. Daily God would come and just walk and talk with Adam and Eve. It was beautiful how close they really were. Until the day where man chose to sin. He chose to go his own way, and because of that decision the curse of sin has forever been on us. Now we know good and evil. Now we can understand our own free will that God has given us. A free will to follow Him or to follow our own evil desires. Throughout the Bible we see God doing everything He can to mend the relationship with His people, from Noah to Abraham to Moses all the way to Jesus Himself. John 3:16 has become this sort of cliche’ christian verse that everybody knows about. But when you actually read it, not just to read it but to experience the love of God it is very revolutionary! God loved you so much, He wanted a relationship with you so much that He gave his son Jesus to come to this earth and to suffer and die, just so that he could spend eternity being close with you. God has always been in pursuit of us. Just look at Luke 19:10, “The Son of Man came to SEEK (to go in search of, to pursue) and to SAVE those who were lost.” What are they lost from? They are lost from knowing God because of their sin. So Jesus pursued us to make a way for us to be close to him. To walk with Him in the cool of the day, to experience Him like He designed it from the beginning. So I say all that to let you know that if you think God has left you the Bible says, “He will never leave or forsake you”. So if the Bible is truth and I believe it is, then God has always been in PURSUIT of us. We are the ones that have left Him to go our own way. He has been standing by us and waiting for us to just let Him in. HE LOVES US THAT MUCH! The God who created everything is in PURSUIT of us. So run to Him today, He has been waiting for you.
